About 200 people, including academics, doctors of sciences and professors from Uzbekistan, Austria, Great Britain, Germany, Iran, Russia, Poland, France, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Japan and other countries are expected to take part in the Congress.
The central event of the Congress such as the plenary meeting and the solemn opening of the media forum will be held on June 7 at 09.00 in the House of Scientists named after Maxim Gorky (Dvortsovaya naberezhnaya, str. 26).
During the plenary meeting such topics as:
- Actual ways to preserve, study and popularize cultural legacy as a global problem. The experience of Uzbekistan;
- The interaction of the cultural traditions of the East and the West in the center of the Silk Road;
- The intersection of the times: the great legacy of the past is the basis of the enlightened future. The Architectural Epigraphy of Uzbekistan project;
- The ideas of the humane and enlightened Islam in the cultural legacy of Uzbekistan;
- Decorative and applied art: unity of life, cult and beauty, etc. will be discussed.
In total, seven sectional scientific discussions on archeology, history, oriental manuscripts, numismatics, textiles, decorative and applied art and painting of Uzbekistan are planned.
A unique addition to the Congress will be the opening of the simultaneous exhibitions of the Uzbek heritage in several museums of St. Petersburg - at the Russian Museum Ethnography, the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Kunstkamera, the Russian National Library, the State Museum of the History of Religion, and the Institute of Russian Literature (the Pushkin House) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The Congress will also present large-scale projects initiated by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to preserve, study and popularize the rich cultural legacy of the Uzbek people
Also, according to the tradition of the project, the participants will present the next 5 volumes of the illustrated volumes of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in the World Collections series:
- The Collection of Museums in Germany” (Berlin, Bamberg, Dresden, Hamburg, Leipzig, Lubeck, Stuttgart, and Hernhut);
- The Collection of the State Museum of the History of Religions;
- The Collection of the State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan;
- Carpet-making of Uzbekistan: a tradition preserved for centuries (Uzbekistan, Russia, Spain, the USA, and Canada);
- The Art of Mawarannar in the Collection of the State Hermitage.
The multimedia project also includes documentaries shot in the above-mentioned museum collections in 2018.
For the first time, within the framework of the project, a presentation of 14 volumes of books of the Architectural Epigraphy of Uzbekistan series, as well as a traditional humanitarian action for gratuitous transfer of books to various scientific and cultural institutions will be held.
As part of the cultural program, guests will be treated to a performance by the masters of arts of Uzbekistan and the popular Uzbek band VIA Yalla as part of a gala dinner with a special menu of Uzbek cuisine.
The organizers of the Congress are the National Association of Electronic Mass Media of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Center for Research of Cultural Values of Uzbekistan Abroad under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Islamic Civilization Center under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Zamon Press Info Publishing House. The organizational support of the Congress will also be carried out by the Eriell Group Oilfield Services Company, the Moscow office of which is the organizer of the multimedia project “The Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in the World Collections”, as well as a series of the publication of facsimile copies of ancient manuscripts of Uzbekistan kept in world libraries.
The 2nd International Scientific and Cultural Congress is held in accordance with the resolution adopted by the participants in the 1st Congress in Tashkent and Samarkand in mid-May last year.

The multimedia project “The Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in the World Collections” has no analogues in terms of the breadth of coverage and the volume of research work to collect and summarize outstanding artifacts originating in the territory of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of the project, 10 volumes of album books and more than 20 documentaries have been released and several international forums have been held in Uzbekistan, Russia and the UK.
