How long does it take to create one book?
Our beautiful books are printed in Turkey! The publishing house Mega Basım has told how long it takes to print one book of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in the World Collections series.
An important step is prepress. After receiving the file in electronic form, experts review it, eliminate technical inaccuracies, check the quality of the photo materials and request new ones if some pictures are not suitable for printing. The photos and text are then processed specifically for printing. The prepress process takes 1-2 days.
After that, all fonts are formatted and converted into a drawing format, and the future book is sent for approval.
The next stage is printing which takes about two days. The printing house works around the clock. The setup of one printed sheet takes approximately 30 minutes, and its printing takes 5 minutes. All volumes are printed on the same press machine so that there are no differences between them.
The next steps are folding (folding sheets into notebooks), forming and stitching a book block, attaching a flyleaf, binding.
it takes approximately 2 weeks to print and design one book from scratch. Truly handmade filigree work!
