On December 10-11, 2018, the capital of Uzbekistan meets a grandiose event in the world of culture and art - the International Media Forum “The Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in the World Collections Project. Results of 2018. Roadmap for 2019".
Domestic scholars and foreign scholars, civil society and socially responsible business enterprises joined the implementation of the initiatives of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the preservation and enhancement of the cultural legacy of Uzbekistan.
It was in March 2018 that the Roadmap of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in the World Collections project for 2018 was approved in Tashkent. The results of its implementation for 10 months will be summed up in the NAESMI Media Hall.
On the first day of the Media Forum, December 10, a meeting of the World Society for the Preservation, Study and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan will be held, which will bring together 350 participants: domestic and foreign scholars, representatives of international organizations, foreign and national experts, heads of museums, libraries and scientific institutions, media structures and all those who value the concept of the cultural legacy of Uzbekistan.
Scholars and experts from Germany, the Czech Republic, Russia, and Japan will present the next 10 pilot editions of book-albums and documentaries of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in the World Collections series.
Within the framework of the forum, the State Museum of the History of the Timurids will be donated 30 books of the series "Architectural Epigraphy of Uzbekistan" and "The Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in the World Collections", as well as facsimile editions of the rarest manuscripts of the great heritage of the Timurids.
The highlight of the evening of the first day of the media forum will be the 10th National Festival of Socially Significant Media Products. The authors of the best works on the tourism potential of Uzbekistan will be awarded diplomas and valuable gifts. The winner of the Grand Prix of the festival from Uzbekistan is waiting for a grand prize - a Spark car. The best among foreign participants will be given a VIP tour of the mysterious places of Uzbekistan for two persons.
Guests and participants of the forum will look through the first book in Uzbekistan with the effect of augmented reality, discuss the concept of a strategy for preserving and popularizing the cultural legacy of the pearl of the Silk Road - the ancient city of Samarkand and read the unique and one of a kind project "100 Outstanding Manuscripts of Uzbekistan".
The highlight of the forum will be the presentation by British and Austrian scholars and specialists of an elegant and luxurious facsimile edition of 33 miniatures of the unique manuscript the Zafar-nameh kept in the National Library of Great Britain.
The outcome of the media forum will be the approval of the Road map of the activities of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan for 2019.
