Today the Second International Congress "Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan - a Path to Dialogue between Peoples and Countries" opens in Saint Petersburg.
The Congress is held by the National Association of Electronic Mass Media of Uzbekistan within the framework of the International Multimedia Project Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in the World Collections. It is attended by more than 200 scientists, experts, diplomats, representatives of state, public and international organizations, media outlets from more than 30 countries. The heads and directors of the largest museums and scientific institutions from Uzbekistan, Austria, Great Britain, Germany, Iran, Russia, Poland, France, Turkey, Czech Republic, Sweden, Japan and other countries are involved in the work of the Congress.
The main event of the Congress will take place at the Gorky House of Scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The plenary session, which opens tomorrow, will be supplemented by seven sectional scientific discussions on archaeology, history, oriental manuscripts, numismatics, textiles, arts and crafts and fine arts of Uzbekistan.
Today, the congress will open accompanying exhibitions of cultural legacy and Uzbek art in the Russian Ethnographic Museum, the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian National Library, the State Museum of the History of Religion and others.
The day before, scientists, experts and journalists arrived in St. Petersburg.
