Samarkand hosted the VI International Congress "Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan - the basis of a new Renaissance", which presented new editions of the State Hermitage and the Museums of Tatarstan. Izvestia attended the event, which lasted from 22 to 24 July. The sixth congress fell on the hottest time of the year, the sun was +45. Nevertheless, 250 orientalists from Russia, India, Japan, China, France, Great Britain, the USA, Egypt, Switzerland and other countries came to Samarkand. They presented the result of cooperation in the book-album "Cultural heritage of Uzbekistan in the collections of the world." During the year, oriental scholars and historians collected artifacts from all over the world. They were jewelry and national costumes, daggers and sabers, horse harness and silver utensils, as well as carpets, fabrics, tiger skin and gifts from the eastern khans to Russian emperors. The project, which brought together orientalists from all over the world, currently has 60 volumes with artifacts on the theme of Central Asia. “The contribution of Russian partners to this project is huge, and I am talking about it with excitement. Starting to publish books, we sent letters to many countries of the world, contacted many scientists, libraries, museums, but the first one who believed us in this regard was Russia. The first seven volumes of the projects are collections of Russian museums. After the world saw that they began to work with us, others slowly began to follow. And now every year, despite the pandemic, we consistently publish ten volumes,” Firdavs Abdukhalikov, chairman of the board of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Promotion of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan, admitted to Izvestia. The first international scientific and cultural congress "Cultural heritage of Uzbekistan - the path to dialogue between peoples and countries" was held in May 2017 in Tashkent and Samarkand. At the same time, it was proposed to create a World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan as one of the centers of civilization that united many world cultures and religions on the Great Silk Road.
