As reported by Gazeta.uz, the International Scientific Congress adopted a resolution on the establishment of the World Scientific Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan.
The resolution on the need to establish the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan adopted following the results of the International Scientific Congress "The Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan: the way to dialogue between peoples and countries."
Participants in this society can be orientalists, archaeologists, historians, art historians, collectors, and representatives of the media sphere from around the world. The Society will be able to hold international events such as exhibitions, presentations and cultural forums in museums and scientific centers that keep the collections of monuments of the cultural legacy of Uzbekistan.
The resolution also refers to the need to provide access to researchers to objects of cultural legacy. “The lack of complete information about museum objects and digital catalogs prevents a wider study and further popularization of the cultural legacy of Uzbekistan,” the participants in the congress explain in the resolution.
The International Scientific Congress was held on May 15-16 in Tashkent and Samarkand. It collected over 140 scholars, experts, diplomats, representatives of international organizations from more than 40 countries, as well as more than 50 representatives of domestic science. At the final meeting, a decision was made to hold a congress annually.
