The World Scientific Society aimed at studying the cultural legacy of Uzbekistan established

The World Society for the Study, Preservation and Promotion of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan has been created


For two days, May 15–16, Tashkent and Samarkand became a major dialogue platform for 370 participants from 40 countries of the world, where scientists shared the latest achievements and discoveries in the field of archeology, numismatics, history, applied arts, etc.


The International Congress "Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan - a Path to Dialogue between Peoples and Countries" has completed its work.


The Congress adopted a resolution on the need to create a World Scientific Society for the study, preservation and promotion of the cultural legacy of Uzbekistan.


During the forum, the participants repeatedly noted the importance of preserving and popularizing cultural legacy and expressed special gratitude to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for his attention and care for one of the most important aspects of modern life - the historical past and cultural legacy of the country.

 

At the end of the Congress, a resolution was adopted on the need to establish a World Scientific Society for the Study, Preservation and Promotion of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan, which was read out by Krista Pikkat, acting Head of the UNESCO Office in Uzbekistan, Director of the UNESCO Cluster Office for Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on Registan Square in ancient Samarkand.


The International Congress “Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan - a Path to Dialogue between Peoples and Countries” on the Registan square ended with a colorful 3D-mapping light and music show, which left unforgettable impressions of staying in Uzbekistan in the hearts of the participants.

 

"It happened so that the numerous cultural values of Uzbekistan are now stored in more than 40 museums around the world as well as in many private collections. To date, we have collected an extensive factual base that will allow us to create the most complete list of objects that constitute the priceless heritage of our country," - said Saidov .

 

A program of accompanying events was developed for the participants of the Congress. Among them are a visit to the NAEMM folklore media festival with tasting of the best dishes of the national cuisine of all regions of Uzbekistan, as well as a competition for the best pilaf, watching a unique light and music performance on Registan Square - a 3D mapping "The cultural legacy of Uzbekistan is the legacy of all mankind", and a visit to the exhibition of the best works of carpet weaving and suzani created by the Uzbek masters with the presentation of the album Carpets and Embroidery of Uzbekistan in the World Collections which takes place in the Ulugbek Madrasah.

 

During the International Forum, a new satellite multimedia TV channel "Karavan-TV" began broadcasting, aimed at popularizing the cultural and historical legacy and tourism potential of Uzbekistan. The final dinner of the forum was held in the Bogishamol oriental garden, recreated in the image of one of the seven gardens of Amir Timur around Samarkand. The dinner was accompanied by the performance of national Uzbek classical music. The book-album Musical Legacy of Uzbekistan was presented there. A special solemn moment of the forum was honoring of Edward Rtveladze, archaeologist, researcher, Doctor of historical sciences, Professor, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, scientific director of the project Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in the World Collections, on the occasion of his 75th birthday.

 

The International Congress has become a highlight in the implementation of the Action Strategy for the five priority areas of development of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021, adopted at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
