Uzbekistan signed a state program for 2022-2026 with UNESCO.
The document was signed on November 15 by Aziz Abdukhakimov, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the National Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan for UNESCO, and UNESCO Head Audrey Azoulay, Sputnik reports.
The goal of the document is cooperation in promoting the ideas of peace and sustainable development in Uzbekistan. Among the objectives of such cooperation are the creation of inclusive, equal and safe conditions in schools, the improvment of the quality and relevance of education, the teaching of skills necessary for life, work and sustainable development to children, preparation of a generation of qualified teachers, digitalization and raising of financial support to education.
For its part, UNESCO undertakes to support the reform of education in Uzbekistan by sharing experience and providing platforms for partnership with foreign educational and expert organizations.
UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay visited the republic to participate in the 2nd UNESCO World Conference "Education and Upbringing of Young Children" which is held in Tashkent on November 14-16.
