From September 13 to 21, 2021 our publishing house Müller & Schindler once again had the honour to participate in the 5th Annual Congress of the “World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan”. This international event was held in conjunction with the international forum “Central Asia at the Crossroads of Civilizations”, on the initiative of the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and supported by the UNESCO. It took place within the framework of the Cultural Heritage Week in three cities of the Republic – Tashkent, Khiva and Nukus.
National and international scientists, historians, orientalists and researchers from over 40 different countries attended the event and took part in the conference dedicated to the preservation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, current challenges and future opportunities. The exchange of experiences and ideas these days is of great importance for Uzbekistan and the whole Islamic cultural area.
Thanks to our profound knowledge and experience in connection with manuscripts and their preservation and reproduction as fine art facsimile editions, we have been an integral part of this project for years. We greatly support the endeavour of Uzbekistan to preserve not only its rich written heritage but also its unique heritage of the Uzbek people, its popularization and preservation for future generations.
Thanks to this conference and the highly elaborated and unique supporting programme the time flashed past. We are returning loaded with many new and very exceptional impressions and more than ever we are aware of the rich cultural heritage of this fascinating country. We want to thank the organizers for the invitation and the opportunity to experience the Uzbek culture in such closeness. Thank you very much for your trust in us.
