
On the eve of the 5th Anniversary Congress, the World Society, with the assistance of the international oilfield services company EriellGroup, is negotiating the possible publication of a book-album dedicated to the Greek Sartsetakis Gallery of Uzbekistan.
At the 4th International Congress "Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan - the Foundation of a New Renaissance", held in December 2020, Kassiani Kagouridi, Head of the Department of Museum Collections and Deputy Director of the Corfu Museum of Asian Art in Hellas, spoke about the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan in the collections of the Korfu Museum.
Since 2018, the permanent exhibition of the Sartsetakis Gallery of Uzbekistan with over 300 exhibits has been open to the public in Greece. Until now there has never been a museum in Hellas where the art of Uzbekistan would be presented so fully.
And now a collection of the unique cultural legacy of Uzbekistan is available to the Hellenic audience: colorful suzani embroideries, carpets, jewelry of the 19th century, produced in Bukhara, Samarkand, Ferghana and other cities. In addition, the collection includes carpets of the Uzbek tribes Kungrat and Lakai, rarities of weaving art belonging to the traditions of the Karakalpaks.
