"THE CULTURAL LEGACY OF UZBEKISTAN AS THE FOUNDATION OF  A NEW RENAISSANCE"

 

  1. Conducted by the World Society for the Preservation, Study and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in Tashkent on December 15-16, 2020, and the Fourth International Congress "The Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan as the Foundation of a New Renaissance" was held under the sign of recognition of a comprehensive study of the rich cultural heritage of Uzbekistan as the most important driving force in the transition to a new period in the history of the country, designated by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev as the Third Renaissance.
  2. The participants of the Congress have especially noted the results of the work of the initiators and executors of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan Project for 2019 and 2020. Within the framework of the ongoing successful implementation of the scientific and educational project “The Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in World Collections”, 35 fundamental book-albums have been published at a high polygraphic level, more than 30 documentaries have been released, the Internet site and video lectures have been made, international congresses and conferences have been held in Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Termez, St. Petersburg and other cities. The Project organized an exhibition dedicated to the Japanese researcher Kato Kyuzo.Extremely important research, scientific and educational work to identify, systematize and preparation for publication of objects of the cultural and historical heritage in the format of book-albums in three or four languages, as well as video versions making a consistent virtual image of the monuments of history and culture of Uzbekistan is ongoing. According to representatives of the world scientific community, the project is of great public importance has great potential
  3. The Congress participants have noted the expansion of the geography of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in World Collections project. Volumes on the collections of museums in Great Britain, the Czech Republic, the USA, India and Japan have been published. In the nearest future, the project is to publish albums and films devoted to pieces of art and manuscript monuments from museums of the Republic of Korea, China, the UAE, and Turkey. The preparation of publications of the "golden fund" of the historical science of Uzbekistan continues: the reprint of rare classical works,the publication of new works by outstanding scholars G.A. Pugachenkova, E.V. Rtveladze and many others.
  4. The World Society for the Preservation, Study and Popularization of Cultural Legacy together with the Uzbekkino National Agency continues working on the preservation of the “Golden collection” of Uzbek cinema. Jointly with the State Unitary Enterprise "Republican Cinema Fund" and the State Film Fund of the Russian Federation, it is planned to digitize and return to Uzbekistan dozens of outstanding films: "Takhir and Zukhra" (1945, directed by Nabi Ganiev), "Mahallada duv-duv gap" (1960, directed by Shukhrat Abbasov), "Ali Baba and 40 robbers" (1980, directed by Latif Fayziev), and "People of Leningrad, my children ..." (1980, directed by Damir Salimov). A program for the making of popular science films is being implemented.
  5. The study and subsequent publication of the monuments of material culture of Uzbekistan, carefully kept in museums, libraries and scientific institutions of the world will become a significant contribution to the development of scientific thought. The Congress participants make special mention of the government’s significant support for the implementation of the World Society projects. In recent years, the Center for Researches of Cultural Values ​​of Uzbekistan Abroad, as well as the Center for Islamic Civilization under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan have been established. The participants of the Congress have adopted an appeal to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to support the current policy in the field of culture, as well as activities in the preservation, study and popularization of the cultural legacy of Uzbekistan
  6. More than 300 scholars of scientific and cultural institutions, representatives of government and public organizations, diplomatic corps, experts from 30 countries  have taken part in the Congress (partly via visual communication). A wide range of issues on the little-studied stages of the pre-Islamic and Islamic civilization of Uzbekistan, the preservation of the country's cultural heritage and the study of the cinematograph of Uzbekistan have been considered. More than 60 scholars from different countries of the world participated in the work of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan made welcoming speeches and scientific reports.
  7. During the Congress, a presentation of new book-albums and documentaries of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in World Collections series has taken place.
  8. A report on the work done by the Project for 2019 and 2020 has been made, a strategy for further development and new initiatives have been discussed, and a Roadmap for the World Society for the Preservation, Study and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan for 2020 - 2025 has been already developed.
  9. The Congress has adopted a decision to thank officially the Chairman of the Board of the World Society Abdukhalikov F.F. for his active leadership in the World Society and the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in World Collections project. Members of the Congress have unanimously noted the effectiveness of the work of the Head of the World Society,
  10. his great personal contribution to the organization of events, the publication of books, the production of new films, the organization of exhibitions.
  11. The Congress participants have noted the importance of the scientific discovery of the Kampyrtepa site in the Surkhandarya Province, named Alexandria Oxian by the Chairman of the Academic Council of the World Society, Academician Rtveladze E.V. and have called on the state and public organizations of the Republic of Uzbekistan to prevent the destruction of this outstanding monument of the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan and to make every effort to restore it.
  12. The Congress has re-elected Abdukhalikov F.F. Chairman of the Board of the World Society, and Rtveladze E.V. Chairman of the Academic Council and has approved the members of the Board and the Academic Council of the World Society.
  13. The Congress participants have noted that the powerful intellectual level of the outstanding personalities of the Oriental Renaissance who lived and worked in the ancient land of Uzbekistan has become a solid foundation for the development of world science, culture and art. The reports of the Uzbekistan and foreign scholars presented at the congress have demonstrated once again the uniqueness and high historical and cultural significance of the art of Uzbekistan for the development of world culture.
  14. At the same time, the participants of the Congress consider it necessary to convey the request for the need to create additional conditions to ensure access of researchers to cultural heritage sites to the Governments, the governing bodies of ministries and cultural institutions of different countries, including Uzbekistan. The lack of complete information about museum items and digital catalogs impedes the broader study and further popularization of the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, as well as international cooperation between cultural, scientific and educational institutions of different states.
  15. The Congress has authorized the Academic Council and the Board of the World Society to work out specific projects of activities the World Society for 2021 in accordance with the proposals of the members of the World Society.
