The exhibition of photographs of selected exhibits from the State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan named after I. V. Savitsky opened at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. This is reported by the news agency Dunyo.
It presents 26 photographs of works by different authors dedicated to the everyday life, culture, traditions and history of the peoples of Uzbekistan. The exhibition, organized by the Government of the Republic together with the UNESCO Secretariat will last a week.
"Today's event embodies the rich culture and historical heritage of Central Asia, which has developed over the centuries, thanks to dialogue and exchange on the Silk Road. The exhibition shows that the region has long played a key role in cultural, research and commercial exchange between East and West," Gabriela Ramos, UNESCO Deputy Director General for Humanities and Social Sciences, shared her impressions.
The event is timed to the anniversary of the adoption of the Khiva Declaration, which was developed at the International Forum "Central Asia at the Crossroads of World Civilizations", held in September 2021 in Khiva.
