The Uzbek miniature school with many bright and outstanding artists, such as Kamoliddin Behzod, has remained one of the strongest and most famous in the world for many centuries.
Miniature art is included in the Representative List of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, the press service of the State Committee for Tourism reported.
The inclusion of miniature art, which has a centuries-old history and has reached its peak in Uzbekistan, in the UNESCO Representative List is an international recognition, the ministry stressed.
It was noted that the Uzbek miniature school with many bright and outstanding artists, such as Kamoliddin Behzod, has remained one of the strongest and most famous in the world for many centuries.
At the 15th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, the nomination of 42 national and multinational elements of the intangible cultural heritage were studied for inclusion in the Representative List.
Heads and representatives of UNESCO, permanent missions from more than 170 countries, as well as delegates from national commissions, international organizations and NGOs take part in the discussion.
