It presents archaeological finds found in Ancient Khorezm, works of Karakalpak folk arts and crafts, Russian and Turkestan avantgarde, as well as the Moscow school of nonconformists. There are works of a realistic nature, modern fine and decorative art of Karakalpak, Uzbek artists, icons, and examples of Western European art in the museum. Undoubtedly, the collection is quite diverse, although most art lovers know it, first of all, as a collection of Russian and Turkestan avantgarde. Collection of works of the Russian avantgarde of the State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan named after I. V. Savitskiy occupies the second place after a similar collection of the Russian State Museum (Russian Federation).
Now, the archaeological collection of the State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan named after I. V. Savitskiy has over 9,000 items of storage (9,134 items) in the main fund and 32,579 items in the scientific and auxiliary fund. The collection includes art and household products made of ceramics, ganch, stone, bone, wood, metal, glass, leather and fabrics. Chronologically, the collection represents the archaeology of Karakalpakstan from the Bronze Age to the appearance of the most ancient states on our territory, one of which was the Ancient Khorezm.
