Alisher Navoi, who held high government positions due to his close friendship with Sulatn Hussein, paid great attention to the construction and development of the city, providing generous patronage to scientists, artists and musicians. With his huge personal funds, Alisher Navoi (this fact is well known) erected more than 135 different kinds of buildings - caravanserais, mosques, bridges, monasteries for khanako dervishes, and also financially supported scientists, poets, artists, madrasah students and others.
Abd ar-Rahman Jami, who in 1456 became the head of the Naqshbandiya brotherhood of Herat, abandoned his court career and spent all his considerable income on the needs of society, he himself dressed and ate extremely modestly; therefore, those who did not know him personally, according to Zain al-din Wasifi, the poet of Herat, subsequently transferred to the service of the Sheibanids, they took him for his own servant.
Sultan Hussein in his religious policy patronized Sufi sheikhs, regardless of whether they were Sunni or Shiite, built monasteries and madrasas for popular Sufi saints, deducted large donations to them. Under the influence of Navoi and Jami, Sultan Hussein became an adherent of the Sufism of the Naqshbandi tariqa. As the historian Isfizari wrote, "Sultan Hussein Mirza was distinguished by extraordinary care for the people, understanding their needs, which he tried in every possible way to alleviate".
