Abdullah Qadiri (1894 – 1938) was not only the author of fiction and satirical works, but also an excellent compiler of dictionaries. The part of Polniy russko-uzbekskiy slovar’ (Complete Russian-Uzbek Dictionary) with words beginning with the letter P compiled by him is a good example of his excellent work in this direction and consists of 21,500 entries. The collection of the department also includes famous novel by Qadiri Minuvshie dni (The Days Gone) published in three parts in 1926.
The work of one of the famous Uzbek poets Abdulhamid Chulpan (1897 – 1938) Soz was published in 1935 in Latin script. There are translations of his works Devona, Immat, Kukhi malak made by E. Zart. The collection of Chulpan’s verses Uygonish consisting of 40 pages was published in Tashkent in 1922. The collection contains 23 poems written in Bukhara, Samarkand and Tashkent. The works of Abdurauf Fitrat (1886 – 1938) Arslon (1926), Nahv (1927), Uzbek classic musikasi (1927), Eng eski turk adabiyot namunalari (1927), Qiyomat (1936) and drama Chin sevish are kept in the collections of the department.
