A wonderful example of architecture - the serpentine twine of Oqsaroy and its radiant colors

Oqsaroy in Shakhrisabz is an excellent example of architectural development during the reign of Amir Temur and the Timurids.‌‌

The outer contour of the small arch and the corner of the walls surface are flanked with a three-quarter column in the form of a serpentine twine (Morpech). Each twine is a bulge with an undulating surface richly decorated with colored mosaic patterns and inscriptions. Violet blue, green, white and blue are most often used; the branches are painted in yellow and blue, the petals are green sometimes with a black silhouette inside.
