A. V. Kuznetsov donated a significant number of various items to the Museum in 2010.

Items were collected at the Kanka site, Samarkand, the territory of the Chimkurgan reservoir, Termez, Kuyukkala in Khorezm, the Kultepa site in Ustrushana, etc. The residents of the republic regularly donated archaeological items discovered at earthworks to the Museum. In June 2013, the Museum received unique items from the burial of, presumably, a noble Byzantine warrior (5th – 6th centuries) from the village of Mayskiy, the Tashkent region.

A certain part of the arrivals to the archaeological collection of the Museum was items transferred by scientific research institutes. In 2011, owing to Sh. R. Pidaev, the Museum was replenished with over 90 items from archaeological excavations in the Surkhandarya region and other sites of Uzbekistan. Unique are the finds from the Munchaktepa site (Pap in the Namangan region) of four samples of fabric (fragments of clothing) of the 5th – 6th centuries and a sculpture from the Buddhist temple of Karatepa.

You can learn more about this topic in the book-album “The Collection of the State Museum of the History of Uzbekistan” (part one) (Volume XXVI) from the series "Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in the World Collections".

The main sponsor of the project is the oilfield services company Eriell-Group.
