What are Christian-Syriac tombstones made of?‌‌

One more important arrival at that time was Christian-Syrian tombstones found in 1900 – 1903.

There were related to the presence of Nestorian Christians in Central Asia, the teaching originated in Christianity in the eastern provinces of Byzantium in the 5th century.

The gravestones were found northeast of Lake Issyk-Kul at the Chinese border, in ruins of the ancient residence of the Jelatay khans of the 13th and 14th centuries, near the village of Mazar. Large pebbles of various shapes were used for the gravestones, which were carved with Nestorian crosses and inscriptions in Syrian script around them.
