Preparations are underway for the 43rd session of UNESCO in Samarkand

In October-November of this year, the 43rd session of the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) will be held in Samarkand.

 

This event, which will be held for the first time in 40 years outside UNESCO's Paris headquarters, coincides with the organization's 80th anniversary.

 

Preparations for this event are currently underway. According to the data, more than 5,000 participants from 194 countries are expected to attend the 43rd session and its events. Heads of state, leaders of international organizations, ministers, and ambassadors will also gather in Samarkand.

 

Within the framework of the session, the UNESCO Youth Forum, a meeting of national commissions, the ceremony of awarding the Uzbekistan-UNESCO Beruni Prize for the first time, and an international conference on the role of artificial intelligence in museums will be held.

 

In addition, international exhibitions, demonstrations of new expositions, concert programs with the participation of world stars, and more than 150 events are planned at historical and cultural monuments, museums, and cultural institutions of Samarkand. A press center will be created on the territory of the Silk Road Samarkand complex.
