The Chairman of the UNESCO National Commission is Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov, Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to UNESCO is Umid Shadiyev.
By the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan Gayane Olegovna Umerova was appointed Secretary General of the National Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan for UNESCO, the press service of the Ministry of Justice reports.
For reference: The Chairman of the UNESCO National Commission is Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov, the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to UNESCO is Umid Shadiyev, and the head of the UNESCO representative office in Uzbekistan is Mr. Jan Chladek.
Gayane Umerova graduated from the International Westminster University in Tashkent in 2008 (Bachelor's degree), in 2012 she graduated from the Sotheby's Institute of Art and the University of Manchester (Master's degree).
She was trained at Sotheby's Auction House, Victoria &Albert Museum (UK) and Georges Pompidou Center (France). She speaks Uzbek, English and Russian.
From 2017 to 2020 she was the Head of the Finance Management Department of the Arts and Culture Development Foundation under the Ministry of Culture, Deputy Executive Director of the Arts and Culture Development Foundation under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Since 2020, she has been working as the Executive Director of the Arts and Culture Development Foundation under the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan.
