Shahin Majid oglu Mustafayev, President of the International Turkic Academy 

Mustafayev Shahin Mejid oglu (born February 7, 1962, Baku) is Doctor of History, Professor at the Institute of Oriental Studies named after Academician Z. M. Buniyatov. Scientific interests are research in the field of political and social and economic history of the eastern regions of Asia Minor, work in the field of history and culture of the peoples of Central Asia. 

Major Scientific Achievements are 
- Research in the field of political and socio-economic history of the eastern regions of Asia Minor during the period of the states of Ak-Koyunlu, Safavids and the Ottoman Empire, as well as the legislative activities of Uzun Hasan Ak-Koyunlu in connection with this region; 
- Studies of socio-political and ethno-cultural processes in Asia Minor and Azerbaijan in the 11th-15th centuries; 
- Study, translation and publication of Ottoman written sources (tax registers) on the history of Azerbaijan; 
- Work in the field of history and culture of the peoples of Central Asia 

Prizes and awards: 
● UNESCO Hirayama Silk Road Fellowship (1998) 
● Fulbright Scholarship (2005) 
● Medal of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan "For the development of science in Kazakhstan" (2008) 

Contribution to the World Society: A member of the World Society assisted in the search for contacts for the volume of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in the Collections of Azerbaijan.
