The collection of the Museum has a picture by an unknown photographer called “The Meeting of Kuropatkin, the Governor-General of Turkestan, with officials and the clergy at the Samarkand railway station”. It depicts representatives of the higher clergy of Samarkand and Bukhara: Muslim, Orthodox, Armenian and Jewish. This photo was taken in September 1916.

About 10 photos of architectural monuments do not have a precise date. Among the monuments are the Sheikhantaur Mausoleum in Tashkent, the mausoleum of the Samanids in Bukhara (as well as several pictures of a mock-up of this building) and the Guri Amir mausoleum in Samarkand.
You can learn more about this topic in the book-album “The Collection of the State Museum of the History of Religion” (Volume XII) from the series “Cultural legacy of Uzbekistan in the world collections”.
The general sponsor of the project is the oilfield services company Eriell-Group.
