On March 5, 2001, a new parallelepiped - shaped tombstone of gray marble was mounted in the burial chamber. It was made by the master from Nurata (Navoi region), Hamdam Ahror - khodja. The stone was delivered from the Ghazan marble quarry (located in the same district). It is 1.89 m, 93 cm, wide and 1.25 m. high. The shape and decoration of the tombstone is shaped in decorated in imitation of similar gravestones of the epoch of the late Temurids and Shaibanids. In imitation of the same tradition, rather shallow stalactites (sharafa) are carved on the lateral and butt end surfaces of the grave stone. Inscriptions are also arranged in conformity with the same traditions.
Texts are carved on the four sides of the tombstone. But the outlines of their script is rather rough, sometimes letters are missing in the words. The gravestone texts, as a whole, have been selected at random and are a far cry from the creative work of the late Abu Isa At-Tirmizi. A hadith text is carved along the perimeter of the upper plane.
The Messenger of Allah- may Allah bless and greet him! said: «Truly, the rewards of the believer for his [righteous] deeds and diligence even after his death are: knowledge and teaching, a devout descendant who prays for him, a bequeathed manuscript of the Koran or a mosque built by him, a shelter for the homeless built by him, a river supplied with water, alms taken from his honestly acquired property. And if all these righteous deeds were accomplished during his lifetime when he was in good health, they shall be rewarded even after his death».
On the two lateral and south - eastern butt end surfaces (under the belt of stalactites), a fragment from the Koran is inscribed. The letters are large and the script used is naskh'. Diacritics are regular.
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful! He is Allah that there is Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He) the King, the Holy, the One Free from all defects, the Giver of security, the Watcher over His creatures, the All - Mighty, the Compeller, the Supreme. Glory be to Allah! [High is He] above all that they associate as partners with Him. He is Allah , the Creator, the Inventor of all things, the Bestower of forms. To Him belong the Best Names. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorify Him. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise!
