Epigraphy of the Shakhi-Zinda necropolis: inscriptions over the mihrab of a 15th-century mosque?

The Shakhi Zinda necropolis is still full of secrets.

From the central entrance portal, an opening leads to the left into a square building, the walls of which are erected in the form of arches. The dome consists of 12 structural ribs. In the western arch there is an entrance to the hall of the mosque of the 15th century. Later rooms adjoin the eastern arch.

Above the mihrab niche there is an inscription in suls handwriting:

“Allah is great in his greatness” and “Muhammad is the blessing of Allah and greetings to him!”.

Above the arched lock of the mihrab niche, the creed of faith is written in nasta'liq handwriting:

["There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah"].

Above the mihrab niche, a fragment from the Koran is written in Kufi handwriting:

“[O Muhammad!] Say: “He - Allah - is one, Allah is eternal, did not give birth and was not born, and no one was equal to him!”.
