One of the streets in Islamabad, Pakistan, will be named after Tashkent, and the new park will be named after Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur.
As part of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's state visit to Pakistan on February 5-6, a naming ceremony was held. The Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif, took part in it.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that this decision reflects the close historical and cultural ties between the two countries, and also reaffirms the strategic level of the Uzbek-Pakistani multifaceted partnership.
It was particularly noted that Tashkent Street and the park named after our great ancestor Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur will become a tangible symbol of the parties' shared commitment to further strengthening the bonds of friendship and mutual understanding between the nations.
