SAM FOGG Gallery presents unique artifacts

Three unique artifacts were presented to the collection of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan by the SAM FOGG Gallery, located in London, Great Britain.

According to the Center's press service, they are:

 

  • An example of sculpture and applied art of the Timurid era - a bronze bowl with carved patterns, created in Iran in 1450-1500;
  • A steel plate made in Bukhara or Samarkand at the end of the 14th century;
  • A silk robe decorated with metal threads from the beginning of the 20th century. The length of this robe, sewn using a special piece technique, is 127 cm, the chest circumference is 92 cm, and the sleeve length is 164 cm.

 

These artifacts enriched the CIC exposition dedicated to our cultural heritage, allowing visitors to vividly experience the historical environment of the Middle Ages.
