During the research at the excavation site, data on the ancient and medieval topography of the city were obtained. The remains of a structure dating back to the late antiquity and the rooms associated with it have been discovered, the press service of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan reported.

"The walls of the structure are built of raw bricks measuring 42x42x10, 41x41x10, 40x40x10 cm. Later, in the early Middle Ages, restoration work was carried out, and ancient walls were used as a base, and additional walls were built from raw bricks measuring 38x38x10, 39x39x10 cm," the report says.

During the uncovering of the remains of this ancient structure, more than 20 waste pits were discovered, of which 3 belong to the 9th-11th centuries, and the rest to the 18th-19th centuries. Among them, in pits dating back to the 9th-11th centuries, numerous unique finds of glazed and unglazed ceramics were discovered. Among them are the remains of bowls and bodiyas decorated with ornate floral carvings, colorful pseudo-epigraphic and variously shaped patterns. Most of the unglazed vessels belonged to jugs, which were also crafted with exceptional refinement and various patterns. In particular, the preservation of a ring hanging from a jug's ring in one of them is noted as a very rare find.

Among the finds, glass items and bone patterns indicate that not only the pottery branch but also other types of crafts were widespread in Khorezm.

Excavations at the monument are ongoing.
