Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Hungary, Oybek Shahavdinov, held talks with David Roja, Director of the Ferenc Sechen National Library of Hungary.

 

During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of studying, preserving, and popularizing manuscripts related to the history, culture, and scientific heritage of Uzbekistan.

The parties paid special attention to the organization of joint exhibitions, the exchange of digital copies of rare archival and manuscript materials related to Uzbekistan and the Turkic world, the implementation of joint scientific projects, including the creation of a facsimile of sources. Issues of preparing catalogs, joint publications, and holding scientific events, including international conferences, round tables, and presentations, were also considered.

 

The Hungarian side confirmed its readiness to participate in the opening ceremony of the international exhibition "Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan - Property of All Mankind", which is planned to be held in Uzbekistan from August 2025 to February 2026. In addition, it was announced that copies of manuscripts related to Uzbekistan and Turkic peoples stored in the funds of the Hungarian National Library will be presented at the exhibition.

 

Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached to organize short-term advanced training courses for Uzbek specialists in the restoration, preservation, and digitization of manuscript heritage at the National Library of Hungary.
