155-year-old Kaaba painting

155-year-old Kaaba painting

This Kaaba painting dates back to 1870 and is executed in graphic style.

The image is made on a silk fabric with a width of 1.80 cm and a height of 94 cm and is decorated with gold ornaments. Below the Kaaba, skillfully painted with the addition of turquoise flowers, excerpts from Quranic verses are presented.

The painting is a family legacy left by Behzod Hojimetov, a Doctor of Philosophy in Art Studies and artist. The heritage was restored by the restorer of the National Library of Uzbekistan, Shuhrat Pulatov, on Japanese paper within 3 months. Now it is expected to be included in the exposition of the "Khanate" direction of the "Second Renaissance" department of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan.

According to the artist, even at the end of the 19th century, people were very interested in how the Kaaba looked and how it was painted.
