Uzbek-Russian Cultural Cooperation: Historical and Feature Documentary Film Created

In cooperation with the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan and the Russian film company "Divi," the international film "Uzbekistan. A historical and feature documentary film "The Path to Victory" was shot.

 

This documentary is dedicated to Uzbekistan's contribution to the fate of thousands of evacuees during the war years. In particular, it reflects the arrival of evacuees in Tashkent during the Second World War, the courage of Uzbek families, Uzbek soldiers and front-line soldiers who accepted orphaned children from various republics as their own children. As a continuation of the traditions of mutual assistance during the war years, aspects of cooperation in the reconstruction of the city of Tashkent after the 1966 earthquake are also covered. 

 

The filming of the main scenes took place on the Memory and Honor Square in Tashkent, as well as in the memorial complex and Victory Park in memory of the family of the blacksmith Shoahmad Shomahmudov, who showed great courage during the war years as a family glorifying true humanism and adopted 15 children of different nationalities.

 

Leading actors, historians, and creative teams from Russia, Europe, and Uzbekistan participated in the film.

 

As is known, in 1941 the population of our republic was more than 6 million 800 thousand people. With the beginning of the war, almost 2 million of our compatriots went to the front. More than 500 thousand perished in fierce battles. During the Second World War, the population of Uzbekistan was about 6.5 million people. More than 1.5 million people were evacuated from combat zones to our country.
