Sarikhani Collection: Unique Exhibits of Uzbekistan in London

Representatives of the delegation headed by the Chairman of the World Society for the Study, Preservation, and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan, Head of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, F. Abdukholikov, organized a scientific trip to Great Britain. During the visit, a meeting was held with Ali Sarikhani, the head of the famous Sarikhani Collection in London, the CIC press service reports.

 

According to information, Ali Sarikhani was born in Iran and moved to London with his family in the late 70s of the last century. Here, engaging in entrepreneurial activity, he established his rich collection.

 

Currently, more than a thousand unique exhibits related to the history of the peoples of the East are stored in the Sarikhani Collection. Among them, there are many artifacts directly related to the history and culture of Uzbekistan. In particular, dozens of ancient exhibits and rare manuscripts from the era of the Seljuks, Samanids, Khorezmshahs, and Timurids are preserved.

 

The rare pages of the Quran related to Uzbekistan, the miniature of the work "Mirajnama," created in 1438 in Herat during the reign of Shahrukh Mirza, and objects of folk applied art aroused great interest among Uzbek researchers.

 

The meeting also discussed the organization of an exhibition of exhibits related to Uzbekistan from Ali Sarikhani's Collection in Tashkent.
