The President visited the Center for Islamic civilization

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the creative work being carried out at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan on January 29.

This unique project has no analogues in the history of our country. Today, the majestic building has already been erected, and the construction has reached the final stage. The majestic building of the center consists of three floors and is made in the style of ancient architectural monuments. The traditional dome and facade, a unique combination of national ornaments give it a special beauty and grandeur. On four sides of the complex there are 34-meter high portals, and in the center there is a 65-meter high dome.

The heart of the center will be the hall of the Koran. Here will be placed the priceless relic of the Islamic world - the most ancient Muskhaf Usman. It will also display copies of the holy book created during the eras of Samanids, Karakhanids, Khorezmshahs, Uzbeks, Temurids and other historical dynasties, their translations into the old Uzbek language, as well as the rarest handwritten copies of the Koran from all over the world.

The complex will organize sections “Pre-Islamic Civilizations”, “The First Renaissance”, “The Second Renaissance”, “Uzbekistan in the 20th Century” and “New Uzbekistan – New Renaissance”. The President paid special attention to their scientific concept and the conditions created.

The history of these periods is presented through various artifacts, handwritten sources, photographs and multimedia technologies. Particular emphasis is placed on the multifaceted activities of scholars and thinkers Al-Khwarizmi, Al-Farghani, Al-Farabi, Al-Beruni, Ibn Sina, Mahmud Zamakhshari, Mirzo Ulugbek, Alisher Navoi, Ali Kushchi and others. The contribution of outstanding thinkers such as Imam Bukhari, Imam Termizi, Hakim Termizi, Abu Mansur Moturidi, Abu Muin Nasafi, Kaffol Shashi, Abdulkhalik Gijduvani, Najmiddin Kubro, Burhaniddin Marginoni, Bahauddin Naqshband, Khoja Akhror Vali to the development of Islamic education is covered in detail.

The Head of State noted the significance and objectives of the center.

- The Islamic civilization and Islamic teachings have always been based on science, culture, education and upbringing. These values are the foundation of the center we are creating. Its main goal is to unite in one place the millennial heritage of Islamic culture associated with our country. Everyone who visits this center will be able to see the greatness of this history, realize that Islam is first and foremost a religion of peace, progress and tolerance, as well as gain a deeper understanding of the outstanding contribution of the Uzbek people to the world civilization - noted the President.

Having familiarized himself with the construction progress and the concept of the future exposition, the President gave specific instructions on organizing the center's work, its meaningful enrichment, and further improvement.

The Head of State also reviewed a presentation on the development of the capital's tourism potential.

The President instructed officials to take additional measures to expand opportunities for entrepreneurs and artisans, as well as to organize tourist routes that will make trips around the capital even more engaging and interesting.

For information: Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan actively cooperates with leading international scientific organizations, including UNESCO and ICESCO. In August 2024, the VIII International Congress on the theme "The Heritage of Great Ancestors - the Foundation of the Third Renaissance" was held in Tashkent and Samarkand, which brought together about 200 scientists from 35 countries. During the event, valuable proposals were put forward for the further development of the center.
