The Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan Partners with UAE's "Manara" Center for Promoting Tolerance

The Center for Islamic Civilization (CIC) in Uzbekistan has entered into a cooperation agreement with the UAE-based "Manara" Center, which focuses on combating intolerance and promoting tolerance.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed during the Week of Uzbekistan’s Cultural Heritage in Tashkent by the Director of CIC, Firdaus Abdukhalikov, who also serves as the Chairman of the World Society for the Study, Preservation, and Popularization of Uzbekistan’s Cultural Heritage, and the Executive Director of the Manara Center in the UAE, Bahita Ahmed Al-Rumaithi.

This partnership envisions collaboration on a series of joint scientific and social projects aimed at promoting peace and tolerance.

“It is a great honor for me to be present at the Week of Uzbekistan’s Cultural Heritage and to visit the Center for Islamic Civilization. The UAE and Uzbekistan share deeply rooted historical ties, connected by a common Islamic heritage. We continue to strengthen these bonds. At our Manara Center, we strive to further this cooperation with the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan through the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding, focusing on research, cultural, and social cooperation. During our visit to the Center, we were impressed not only by the magnificent building itself but also by the ambition and vision of this mega-project’s initiators. Uzbekistan has always been a cultural hub and a center for the development of Islamic philosophy,” Al-Rumaithi noted.
