Joshkun Yilmaz, President of the Turkish Manuscript Institute:

"The scholars who emerged from Samarkand and Bukhara have made an immense contribution to Islamic civilization. I always advise my fellow countrymen in Turkey to visit ancient cities like Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, and Tashkent. The brotherhood and friendship between Turkey and Uzbekistan are deeply intertwined, as our ancestors originated from Uzbekistan. My participation in the Cultural Heritage Week in Tashkent is connected to the Uzbekhan Quran. The original copy, dating back to 1318, is preserved in the Suleymaniye Library in Turkey. We plan to prepare a facsimile of the Uzbekhan Quran in collaboration with the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan. We will mobilize all our resources to accomplish this noble task as quickly as possible. Another important piece of information is that the 550th anniversary of Ali Qushchi, a student of your ancestor Mirzo Ulughbek, is being widely celebrated in Turkey. Our president, Mr. Erdogan, has declared November and December 2024 as the year of Ali Qushchi. Starting from November of this year and throughout 2025, international conferences and exhibitions dedicated to the work of Ali Qushchi will be held in various cities in Turkey."
