Built in 1437 by order of the famous Mirzo Ulugbek (1409-1449), grandson of Amir Timur, the mausoleum, along with other structures, forms the unified and unique memorial and architectural complex Dar ut-tilavat. It is adjacent to the mausoleum of the aforementioned Sheikh Shams ad-Din Kular, and from the south, both in its appearance and external decoration, resembles the architectural monuments of the Mirzo Ulugbek era built in the Shahi-Zinda necropolis in Samarkand.
