The main raw materials used in the manufacture of kinboks-cabbards are leather and leatherette decorated with embossing, appliqué or embroidery. Museum samples of Khiva knives with metal kinboks decorated with chasing are of particular artistic value and rarity. Following centuries-old traditions, craftsmen richly decorate their products with decor, a curling ribbon from the handle itself along the entire blade to its sharp tip. The meticulousness of making of the chased pattern is comparable to the art of Khorezm jewelers.
