This prestigious Congress will bring together approximately 300 foreign and domestic experts, scholars, leading scientists, academics, young researchers, and representatives of religious circles. This was announced today at a press conference organized ahead of the international conference.
The Congress, which will be held over four days in Tashkent and Samarkand, aims to promote the path of development of New Uzbekistan in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, the achievements made during the period of new growth and reforms in the religious and educational field, as well as to ensure effective cooperation with local scholars and the international community of scientific experts to study, preserve, and popularize the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of our people.
This year, the traditional international congress of the World Society is being organized in close collaboration with the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan.
The main goal of this Congress, which will be held in Tashkent and Samarkand from August 23rd to 26th, is to present the mega-project of creating the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, implemented under the leadership of the President, to the international scientific community. In this regard, the Congress will focus on enriching the library and museum collections of the Center in accordance with international standards and the demands of the present day, as well as expanding the Center's activities.
The agenda of the Congress also includes issues such as studying and popularizing the rich cultural and scientific heritage of Uzbekistan based on the work of great scholars of the First and Second Eastern Renaissance, as well as enriching the exhibition of the Museum of the Center for Islamic Civilization of Uzbekistan with new content.
The participation of around 300 scholars, heads of museums and libraries, representatives of international and foreign organizations from 35 countries is expected, including the Secretary General of TURKSOY, Sultan Raev; the Director General of the Research Center for the History, Art, and Culture of Islam (IRCICA), Mahmut Erol Kilic; the Executive Director of the Al-Furqan Islamic Heritage Foundation, Sali Shahsivari; the President of the International Turkic Academy, Academician Shohin Mustafaev; the founder and president of the Institute of Central Asia and the Caucasus, Professor Frederick Starr; and the founder and general producer of the "1001 Discoveries of Islamic Scholars" project, Ahmad Salim.
