During the presentation, another video was shown, but this time dedicated to Sultan Rayev’s activities as a functionary, in particular the Secretary General of TURKSOY.
Sultan Rayev thanked those present and also expressed the hope that his book would arouse keen interest among the Uzbek reader.
Sultan Rayev was awarded valuable prizes, including a medal named after Alisher Navoi and a portrait of the author. In turn, the guests of the presentation on behalf of the writer and the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan were presented with a book, a photo session and an autograph session took place.
At the end of the official ceremony, Sultan Rayev shared his opinion about the importance of the presentation of his book, as well as about the upcoming Congress.
“For me, the presentation of the book is a very significant event. Theaters in Uzbekistan staged performances based on my books but as a writer, as a prose writer, I was not represented in the Uzbek environment. Although the Uzbek language is very close to me, I know the language, growing up on the best examples of Uzbek literature. I think that the book will find its reader, and the reader will find himself in it. It is extremely symbolic that the TURKSOY Forum will take place within the framework of the Congress dedicated to the Center of Islamic Civilization, which will take place in Uzbekistan, a metropolis of spirituality. It was here that humanitarian reforms of the Turkic world began. All the great theoreticians of Islam worked on this earth at different times. Take Imam Bukhari - he is a titan of the Turkic world. Uzbekistan has the right to host events of this scale.”
The president of the Sandro Teti Editore Publishing House in Italy, Sandro Dominico Teti, believes that distributing literature in different languages is the most important task.
“Especially from a Western perspective, this is a very important event. I am well acquainted with Turkic literature, with TURKSOY but, unfortunately, Turkic literature is not sufficiently represented in the West. The most important task is to introduce the average Westerner to Turkic history and culture, literature and poetry. We ourselves are moving in this direction. The Babur-nama was translated for the first time. We are working on other books. So I understand the importance of presentation.”
