Where is the manuscript of the poem copied for Abdullah's library kept?

The work of the renowned collector Mijon was successfully continued by his students.

One of the acquisitions of the Louvre in the field of Islamic miniature painting and book arts is a leaf with a miniature under the code number MAO 713, acquired in 1984. It comes from a manuscript of the poem "Layla and Majnun" by Hatifi, copied and illustrated for the library of Khan Abdullah. The miniature depicts Majnun with Layla's dog. All of these artifacts, related to Islamic Mawarannahr, have been united in a new Department of Islamic Art at the Louvre since 2003.

You can learn more about the topic in the book-album "Illustrated manuscripts from Mawarannahr in the collections of France" (Volume XXIX) in the series "The Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan".

The main sponsor of the project is the oilfield services company Eriell-Group.
