HOW TO BECOME A FRIEND OF THE WORLD SOCIETY?

When did the rulers of Khorezm start minting their own coins?

Before the introduction of coinage in Khorezm, barter trade prevailed for many centuries.

Later, as a result of the interaction of the Sogdians, Bactrians, and Scythians, as well as mutual contacts with Greece, metal coins appeared in Khorezm. However, due to certain conditions of socio-economic development, they did not become a measure of value in trade.

Then, in Khorezm, coins of Alexander the Great, the Golden Horde, and other conquerors began to be minted. During the reign of the Khorezmshahs, coins were minted in Khorezm in the name of Muhammad Khorezmshah. In 1220, Muhammad Alauddin Khorezmshah minted coins in his name in Termez.

In 1221, Khorezmshah Muhammad ibn Tekesh minted coins in Bukhara. In the second half of the 1220s, while in India and Georgia, Sultan Jalal ad-Din Manguberdi also minted silver and copper coins in his name.
