Masters of the art of chasing of Uzbekistan

The art of chasing is represented by jugs oftoba, kuza, choidish (jugs for water and oil), lagan-dishes, trays, basins for washing dastshui, containers for storing bread and cereals, satil-buckets, kumgans and samovars, chilim smoking devices, etc.

Some of them were made by Tashkent craftsmen F. Abidov, G. Tikkaev, M. Madaliev; Ali-Nazar from Kokand, Usta Atazhon from Khiva, R. Kuliev from Bukhara and others. Of considerable interest is a series of trays depicting the architectural monuments of Uzbekistan by the craftsman from Bukhara Mukaddam Mukaramov and the hereditary Kokand craftsman Lutfulla Fazylov.

You can learn more about the topic in the book-album "The Collection of the State Museum of Applied Art and Handicraft’s History of Uzbekistan" (XXXIX volume) from the series "The Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan".

The main sponsor of the project is the oilfield services company Eriell-Group.
