Scientific research has been carried out on the basis of them. His astronomical work "Suwar al-Kawakib al-thabita" is among the rare manuscripts.
In April of 1891 the very famous copy of the treatise Suwar al-Kawakib al-thabita (Book of the Images of the Fixed Stars) by al-Sufi made for personal library of Ulugbek around 1430 – 1440, probably in Samarkand at the time of the construction of his famous observatory, written in an exquisite Arabic calligraphy, with 74 coloured drawings, now BnF manuscript Arabe 5036, entered the French national collection. The manuscript was before in the hands of a certain J. Klatz and came from Istanbul, as evidenced by the ex-libris of 1228/1813 of Muhammad Sadiq Hafiz Efendi Katkhuda-zada, who was religious administrator of Anatolia. The seal of “Sultan Muhammad”, possibly belonging to the Timurid prince, on F.s 1a and 161a reveals that the volume was eventually transferred from Central Asia to the Ottoman Empire at the time of Safavid-Ottom an wars.
