Illustrated manuscript of Navoi - "Kulliyat"

Admittedly, this influence will be particularly evident in the manuscripts made in Shahrukhiya, near Tashkent, for the Shaybanid Khan Kildi Muhammad.

Illustrated manuscript of Navoi - "Kulliyat"

We know, for this last, the beautiful Kulliyat of Mir Alisher Navoi from 1521 – 1522 preserved in Russian National Library, whose paintings were recently published and studied. Kildi Muhammad, cousin of Shaybani Khan, was later governor of Tashkent from 1525 to 1532. We do not know exactly how to locate the date of our manuscript in relation to the Khamsa. There are many similarities between this Khamsa and the Paris manuscript. The influence of the Herat style can also be seen in the miniatures of the Supplément persan 2038 manuscript, especially in the images of male and female figures.

You can learn more about the topic in the book-album "Illustrated manuscripts from Mawarannahr in the collections of France" (Volume XXIX) in the series "The Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan".
