Painting and graphics of Uzbekistan in the second half of the 1980s – early 1990s

Continuity of generations, deep spiritual searches and comprehension of the creative achievements of the previous stage is typical for the generation of Uzbek artists who came to art or found their style in art in the second half of the 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s.

In the works of L. Ibrahimov, A. Nur, G. Kadyrov, N. Imamov, M. Isanov and F. Akhmadaliyev, they appeal to tradition not only as to certain stylistic features, but as a moral, spiritual connection with the homeland, the people, culture, psychology, and mentality.

The collection of graphics from the State Museum of Arts is of great interest. It contains works of famous graphic artists: V. Eremyan, S. Malt, V. Kaidalov, K. Basharov, M. Kagarov, V. Apukhtin, T. Mukhamedov and M. Sadykov. Every artist and his work are a reflection of an era, of a specific historical period. For us, the work of each of them is priceless.

You can learn more about this topic in the book-album “The Collection of the State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan”  (Volume XIII) from the series “Cultural legacy of Uzbekistan in the world collections”.

The general sponsor of the project is the oilfield services company Eriell-Group.
