HOW TO BECOME A FRIEND OF THE WORLD SOCIETY?

Firdavs Abdukhalikov appointed Director of the Center of Islamic Civilization

Firdavs Abdukhalikov will also continue his role as Chairman of the Board of the World Society for the Study, Preservation, and Popularization of Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan (WOSCU).

Dr. Firdavs Fridunovich Abdukhalikov has been appointed as the Director of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan.

Thanks to the large-scale reforms initiated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Abdukhalikov authored and initiated the project "Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in World Collections." He played a key role in publishing the 70-volume series "Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in World Museums," 20 books-albums of the series "Architectural Epigraphy of Uzbekistan," and over 10 exclusive publications on cultural themes and facsimile copies of ancient and medieval manuscripts. These projects have significantly contributed to the preservation and study of Uzbekistan's cultural heritage, making it accessible to contemporary society and future generations. All this work would not have been possible without the personal support and great attention of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to the in-depth study of the cultural heritage of the people of Uzbekistan and its transmission to future generations. WOSCU has found support from public and state organizations, academic circles, and socially responsible businesses.

Abdukhalikov has dedicated years of his life to studying Islamic civilization in Uzbekistan. His works include detailed commentaries and analyses of ancient and medieval manuscripts such as the "Katta Langar Quran," "The Divan of Hussein Bayqara," "Rauzat-us-Safa," "Temur Tuzuklari," "Book of Fixed Stars," "Mirajnama," and "Zafarnama." These works enrich our understanding of Islamic culture and serve as essential sources for contemporary scholars and researchers.

One of Abdukhalikov's significant achievements is the implementation of the unprecedented "114 Qurans" and "Great Qurans of the World" projects. These unique publications, created with the collaboration of leading Quran scholars from Uzbekistan and around the world, are not only of historical value but also demonstrate the rich cultural and scientific heritage of Islamic civilization. His efforts to preserve and popularize these documents make them accessible to a broad audience.

Firdavs Abdukhalikov is also known for his work in cinematography. He has produced and organized numerous documentary and feature films dedicated to Uzbekistan's cultural heritage. Notably, the films "The Return of the Quran Usman" and "Katta Langar Quran: Myths and Facts," co-produced with the Uzbek BBC service, have received wide recognition and become essential tools of cultural diplomacy, promoting an understanding of Uzbekistan's cultural heritage on the international stage.

Abdukhalikov's original research on historical figures of Uzbekistan is particularly noteworthy. His work has led to the first identification of over 150 portraits of prominent scholars and rulers, significantly contributing to Uzbek history. His book, featuring 170 exquisite miniatures, reflects Uzbekistan's rich cultural and scientific history from the 11th to the 18th century.

As the author of many scientific articles, Firdavs Abdukhalikov has received numerous international awards for his contributions to science and culture. In 2019, he received the Prix International Avicenne named after Ibn Sina from the French Medical Academy. In 2023, he was awarded the gold medal named after Academician Christian Daniilovich Fren from the Russian Academy of Sciences for his contributions to academic oriental studies and the "TURKSOY Gold Medal" for his achievements in the culture and art of the Turkic world.

We are confident that Firdavs Fridunovich's work at the Center of Islamic Civilization will further the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage for future generations, strengthening Uzbekistan's position on the international stage.
