On May 30th, a member of the WOSCU Scientific Council, the distinguished archaeologist, Doctor of Historical Sciences, and Professor Rustam Hamidovich Suleymanov, turned 85!

Rustam Hamidovich Suleymanov is one of Uzbekistan's most esteemed and renowned scholars, whose works are widely recognized in the scientific community. A merited scientist and laureate of the Beruni State Prize, he has continued the traditions of the Uzbek school of archaeology since the 1960s. Suleymanov actively participated in the investigation of numerous archaeological sites in the Tashkent oasis, Zarafshan Valley, and the southern regions, including Erkurgan and Nakhshab (modern Karshi). His archaeological excavations have significantly enriched the history of Uzbekistan with valuable and unique artifacts.

A pioneer in archaeological research in Uzbekistan, Suleymanov remains an indefatigable explorer of ancient mysteries despite his advanced age. He plans to continue his archaeological activities, believing that his knowledge and experience can elevate archaeology in Uzbekistan to an entirely new level.
