Five iron sticks are inserted into the lid of the sarcophagus of a rare architectural structure in the city of Shakhrisabz, Kashkadarya region, a crypt built by Amir Temur for himself.

 What are these iron sticks for? Detailed information is also presented in the publication “Architectural Epigraphy of Uzbekistan” of the project “Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in the World Collections”.‌‌ They are intended to establish the upper additional stone on which the epitaph of the deceased was supposed to be carved.
