On May 1st, the "Renaissance" cinema house hosted a media event titled "Architectural Epigraphy of Uzbekistan: Light from the Depths of Centuries".

During the event, a ceremonial distribution of certificates for the complimentary reception of book-albums from the "Architectural Epigraphy of Uzbekistan" series was held for 340 schools in the city of Tashkent.

The media event was organized by the World Society for the Study, Preservation, and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan (WOSCU), in collaboration with the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan, the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Institute of Oriental Studies named after Abu Rayhan Beruni.

Following years of meticulous research and the full decipherment of the epigraphy of historical monuments, 20 multilingual volumes of the "Architectural Epigraphy of Uzbekistan" series were published in Uzbek, Russian, Arabic, and English languages.

"This project is a vivid example of the implementation of the initiatives and directives of the respected President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, aimed at studying, preserving, and popularizing the cultural and historical heritage of our country. For the first time in the history of Uzbekistan, scientists united by the World Society have managed to decipher the epigraphic inscriptions on our ancient monuments. Today's event is not just a technical distribution of certificates for the complimentary receipt of 20 volumes of book albums to 340 schools in Tashkent. Primarily, it is an educational event where we presented documentary films and reports by orientalists to demonstrate the depth of our research and the significance of Uzbekistan’s architectural monuments. These books, published with funds allocated by the government, will now become an invaluable resource for every educational institution's library in the country," noted Dr. Firdavs Abdukhalikov, the project's author and Chairman of the WOSCU Board.

"Today, 20 volumes of the 'Architectural Epigraphy of Uzbekistan' series have been delivered to all schools in Tashkent," said Umid Umirzakov, Chief of the Textbook Provision and Library Coordination Department of the Tashkent City Management of Preschool and School Education. "Allow me to express profound gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan and the government, as these books will open doors for our youth to the world of historical monuments and the cultural heritage of our country. Thanks to the knowledge gained, today's students will be able to contribute to the development of tourism, culture, and science tomorrow, and proudly share the boundless history of their homeland. This effort will undoubtedly bear fruit, nurturing generations of educated citizens for a New Uzbekistan!"

Special reports and presentations were delivered by Doctors of Science Salima Eshonova, Faizkhudzha Makhmudov, Bobur Aminov, Shahlo Abdullaeva, and Elmira Gyul. Guests became acquainted with the activities of the World Society for the Study, Preservation, and Popularization of the Cultural legacy of Uzbekistan (WOSCU) and learned about the implementation of the "Architectural Epigraphy of Uzbekistan" project.

"I was born and raised in the Samarkand region, and I've seen monuments many times, but I never considered the meanings of the beautiful patterns on their walls," noted Ozoda Khaidarova, director of school No. 312 in Uchtepa district. "As we were told, organizers of this wonderful event will come to schools to present this project not only to directors but also to our students. This will undoubtedly interest the younger generation! With the help of these publications, I will certainly provide similar excursions into history for my students."

The media event concluded with a solemn ceremony of distributing certificates for the complimentary reception of 20 volumes of book albums from the "Architectural Epigraphy of Uzbekistan" series to representatives of the national education system.
