The UNESCO Secretariat has received a 50-volumes book-album "Cultural legacy of Uzbekistan in the World Collections"

The ceremony to present the 50-volume book-album "Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan in the World's Collections" was held at the UNESCO headquarters, with the participation of UNESCO's Assistant Director-General for Culture, Ernesto Ottone, and representatives from the Secretariat.

Diplomats provided information about this project, implemented by the Global Society for the Study, Preservation, and Popularization of Uzbekistan's Cultural Heritage, and its achieved results.

It was noted that the project is based on the idea of cataloging and studying various examples of applied arts, rare manuscripts, archaeological finds, and miniatures created in the land of Uzbekistan and currently stored in museums and private collections around the world.

It was emphasized that over 12,000 photographs from the collection showcase globally recognized masterpieces, as well as lesser-known or completely unknown items to both the general public and specialists, and are described in Uzbek, Russian, and English.

Ernesto Ottone expressed gratitude for the gifted books on the rich cultural heritage of Uzbekistan. He sincerely congratulated the representatives of the country on the successful implementation of this project, which required intensive work, time, and scientific and technical resources. It was particularly emphasized that this project is a unique initiative and serves as a model for other countries.

Ernesto Ottone also noted that the collection has great symbolic significance for the people of Uzbekistan and serves as a guide for presenting the country's rich history and culture worldwide through exhibitions in leading museums and art galleries. In this context, he stated that the authors of this project will be invited to participate in international conferences planned by the organization, to present their pioneering and unique experience.
